OFFICE ADMINISTRATION

On January 1st, 2013, I began my position as Office/Financial Manager for the Dade County Sheriff’s Office.  My duties include overseeing staff, providing supervision, and structure of daily workloads,updating and scripting the D.C.S.O. procedures manual, overseeing payroll;  administering all forms and certifications to guarantee compliance with the O.C.G.A.  for wrecker services, metal recycling, and bonding companies;  overseeing and reconciling all D.C.S.O. checking,  bonding, and banking accounts, accounts payable and receivable; issuing all purchase orders,  collecting, reconciling, and distributing all revenue for the D.C.S.O., managing and controlling all budget expenditures.  I work closely with the Sheriff, Chief Deputy and Chief Financial Officer of the county to facilitate budget projections and control budget expenditures.

Cyndi Thurman is the Administrative Assistant to Sheriff Ray Cross. Her duties include scheduling and coordinating all appointments for the Sheriff’s calendar; assist the public by phone or in person, provide support to the Office/Financial Manager in the areas of disseminating paperwork, reconciling bank statements, obtaining purchase orders and the collection of fees for the Sheriff’s office. Manage and order inventory for office supplies, coordinating between departments in resolving day-to-day administrative and operational problems, prepare business correspondence, and performing multifaceted general office support.

 

Cyndi is also a Certified Police Officer, and often assist the Criminal Investigations Division with matters pertaining to Crimes Against Children.
